| Valley Falls, NY is located about 20 miles northeast of Albany (New York's capitol).
The village population has held fairly steady, at 500-600, over the hundreds of years it has been around.
It is interesting to note that even in this small village there was enough shoeing business to allow one of the two village blacksmiths to specialize as a farrier. The other blacksmith was able to focus on general smithing and foundry work
